Chaenomeles speciosa, commonly known as Flowering quince bonsai in japanese handmade Yamafusa pot. Flowering quince is a deciduous tree belonging to the rose family. Its leaves are larger and they cover in a spectacular orange color when autumn arrives. Chaenomeles loves brighter, sunnier places and warm weather. It is advisable to choose a sunny and airy place that belongs to healthy development and promotes flowering and yield. Although Flowering quince is not frost-resistant, it can withstand some frost, but it is safer to protect trees planted in bonsai bowls from strong, extreme frost and cold conditions (such as mulch or straw). It should be kept as a cold store plant during the winter. If possible, always keep the root ball slightly moist. In summer, when the tree brings flowers and fruit, it needs a lot of water and its land should not be allowed to dry out. Apply organic fertilizer (e.g. Biogold) or liquid fertilizer (BioGreen liquid) during the growing season, especially when flowering and yields begin. If possible, plant in Akadama + Kiryu mixture.
The flowers appear in early spring and appear in a delightful pink hue, the large fruits are oval and turn golden yellow when ripe.
