Tillandsia atroviolacea: Habitat is located in southern Mexico, in the state of Oaxaca. It lives here at an altitude of 1,700 meters, on steep rock walls. Very beautiful and rare cupped Tillandsia, the leaves are broad green, close-up ashy from the scaly hairs. When exposed to sunlight, the leaf rosette will be burgundy in patches. The complex inflorescence is pink and curved outwardly complimenting, the flowers are purple and tubular. Sunlight and warm demanding plant, not a beginner collection species.
