Cornus sericea, commonly known as Red-osier dogwood as raw material bonsai. These trees produce larger, four-petalled flowers in late spring and can become an extremely showy tree. Once the flowers wither, a large red berry is left out of them. The trunk of this tree has a peeling bark that can give it an older look. This bonsai requires a very large amount of sunlight. This, in turn, means frequent watering to compensate for the extra dehydration in the soil. Water the Cornus by immersing the bowl in water for a few minutes. Cornus is an outdoor bonsai and needs to be met during the dormant period as well. The harder cold is not well tolerated, it is not a frost tolerant plant, so we have to treat it as a coldhouse plant. Dogwood want to enjoy as much sunlight as they can, so in the summer we can boldly expose them to the sunlight, pay attention to the supply of water. Pinch back the new shoots to their shape in areas that have already reached the desired foliage. Wiring should be done in the fall, when the branches have already expanded. Pay close attention to the wires so as not to cut into the bark of the tree and increase the appearance of scars for danger.
