Chinese elm bonsai - Ulmus parvifolia in blue glazed pot:
With its tiny leaves and favorable developmental characteristics for keeping bonsai, the Chinese elm is probably one of the most popular bonsai varieties. Can be shaped well in all bonsai sizes and all bonsai styles. Responds well to pruning, easy to hold.
Bonsai size: 15 - 20 cm
Bonsai repotting: It is recommended to check every spring for rooting of the bonsai. If so, transplantation or root incision is required. Always place it in soil with good water permeability!
Bonsai watering: In the case of Chinese elm, always make sure the soil is moist. Do not trickle down to the water, nor do your land dry out.
