Pseudocydonia sinensis, commonly known as Chinese quince. Chinese quince is an outdoor, deciduous tree that belongs to the rose family. It has larger leaves that cover in a spectacular orange color in the fall. Chinese quince loves bright, sunny places and warmth. It is advisable to place it in a sunny and airy place that promotes healthy development as well as flowering and yield. Chinese quince can withstand some frost, but when planted in a bonsai pot, it is safer to protect it from strong, extreme frost and cold winds. Always keep the root ball slightly moist. In summer, when the tree brings flowers and fruit, it needs a lot of water and its land should not be allowed to dry out. Apply organic fertilizer (e.g. Biogold) or liquid fertilizer (BioGreen) during the growing season, especially when flowering and yields begin.
If possible, use Akadama + Kiryu as the planting medium.
The flowers appear in early spring and appear in a delightful pink hue, the large fruits are oval and turn golden yellow when ripe.
