Saikei composition in Suiban pot

Item number: 13642

Status: In stock

An extremely unique Saikei composition that includes 3 different plants. This is a trinity of Juniperus chinensis, Pinus parviflora and Cotoneaster microphyllus. With Saikei, the emphasis is not on the plant itself, as in the case of bonsai. The mandatory element is the rock that forms the frame and the rock must be outstanding. The planted trees cannot take the focus away from the rock, so by keeping the proportions, a balance can be created in the composition and aesthetics of the landscape.

Its care is slightly different from that of regular bonsai because it must be taken into account that the plants are in a completely different location and environment than when they are simply planted in a bonsai bowl. However, it is not more complicated or difficult, it is simply different. Plant nutrition is most ideal when a liquid nutrient solution is used. Bonsai Focus, Bio-green and Fish-emulsion fully satisfy the necessary nutrient supply of the soil. If we want to use solid food like Biogold, it is essential to get the insertable nutrient basket. It is also necessary to take into account the unique needs of the 3 plants, as they differ somewhat when it comes to watering, for example. While Juniperus and Cotoneaster are more water-loving plants, pine likes a constantly moist environment less. Plants planted on rocks have less soil and a smaller root ball, so they can dry out faster. They should be considered as plants to be kept in a cold house during the winter. Since we cannot cover properly, as with normal bonsai, we have to take care of the right temperature and frost protection. A bright, cool place (between about 0° and 8°C) should be chosen for him during the winter.
