The deciduous shrub belonging to the rose family is also commonly referred to as Oriental Fotinia or Christmas Berry. The leaves cover in a bronze hue in spring (around around April), turn dark green in summer, and finally envelop in bright yellow, orange, and red in autumn. Five-petal cream-white flowers open in spring (April-May) The flowers are followed by red fruits that ripen in the fall but remain on the tree even in winter (hence the name Christmas berry). It feels best in full sunlight or partial shade. In terms of its planting medium, it is important to have well-drained soil, such as Akadama + Kiryu mixture. It is worth keeping your soil moist and protecting it from drying out. From spring, organic fertilizer is recommended until autumn (eg Biogold cubes).
