Acer buergerianum - Japanese Trident maple bonsai:
Acer buergerianum, Trident maple bonsai, which is one of the popular deciduous trees at bonsai exhibitions. The massive trunk of the tree and its appearance are repeatedly curved, breaking upwards in the lateral direction. Its training is not a problem even for beginning bonsai, but with some experience the tree can be started on a fantastic path of development - easily jumping levels in the value categories of bonsai.
This type of maple has a strong root system and tolerates pruning very well, which should be done in the spring. When watering, make sure that the soil is always kept moist. By the way, its water requirement is lower than, for example, Japanese maples, it does not like too much water. It is a winter-hardy plant that can cope with colder weather conditions, but it does not hurt to protect it with a cover during the winter.
