It is classified as a large Tillandsie because it can grow up to 40 and even 80 centimeters. Its growth is orthotropic, which means it grows upwards, unlike most Tillandsians, which are ageotropic growing, growing sideways or downwards. It also has a special feature that with its aged dry leaves, the ends of which are curled up, it can cling to the branches of trees. Its inflorescence is complex and can reach 60-80 centimeters. The flowers are fragrant, purple and white on the throat. It can be the first to get out into the garden in the spring because it tolerates night cools well. In winter, it can be kept in cold greenhouse conditions at 8-12 degrees Celsius. It also overwinters well in the apartment, but it needs a lot of light and air movement.
