Tillandsia mitlaensis: This special-looking species is native to the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Its special appearance is given by the fact that the leaves of the plant tend to grow to one side and bend back like a claw. It has a lithophytic lifestyle, which means that it grows on its natural habitat, rocks, and forms large colonies there. The whole plant is silvery in color, likes a lot of sunlight and also tolerates drought well. In winter it can withstand even 5-10 degrees Celsius when dry. Its inflorescence is long, straight, sword-like and pink. The flowers grow one by one, purple and tubular.
