Tillandsia xerographica: This species is the Emperor of the Tillandsia. Every collector's dream to have in his collection is a nice big copy of it. He is a native of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. It usually lives on trees, but sometimes also settles on the soil. Its leaves are thick grayish white and downward inclination. Its bloom is a spectacular sight. The inflorescence is large, with complex inflorescences, the bracts and holding leaves are red, the spike are yellowish-green, the flowers are light purple. Its a drought-tolerant species, plants sometimes have to survive nine months of the year without rain. It loves a lot of sunlight, in the apartment and in the garden, placed so that it gets a lot of sunlight. In winter, one spray per week is enough at 18 to 21 degrees Celsius to avoid over-watering.
