Aerangis macrocentra is endemic to Madagascar. This small sized epiphytic orchid is found in the Central Highlands and the north and east of Madagascar.
It grows at an altitude of 1400m. It blooms from summer til autumn the flowers are white and about 1.85 cm.
They require 15000-23000 lux of light. They need filtered light but avoid direct sunlight.
Average daly temperature 26-27 degrees, average night temperature 15 degrees.
Humidity in the summer 70-75%.
Aerangis macrocentra’s roots should be well aerated, best to mount them to corkwood slabs or bark.
Plants should be watered regularly while in the growing season, but drainage must be excellent.
Watering should be reduced in autumn and during the resting period doesn’t need fertilising.
